What advice would you give to your fellow DMDs?

  • Don’t forget about yourself and your dreams. It’s easy to do when we have our wives with crazy schedules and our kids to take care of. But keep your sights on your goals as well as bring them along for the ride.
  • If possible have a weekly dinner with your wife without the kids. Ours are young and go to bed early enough that we give them supper, then have ours alone a few hours later.
  • Think about the legacy you want to leave them, what you want to give to them as they grow into adults and move on in developing their own lives.

How do you achieve life balance?

I make sure to leave work at work and focus on the family at home. As much as possible. As well, an agreed upon night for myself to work on things that I want to work on without feeling guilty. Ultimately, it’s about prioritizing things and scheduling them to make the space for the balance.

What are your kid’s favorite snacks?

Costco trail mix…. Thank god for the executive membership

What do you do to relax?

Read, drive my car, or simply chill with some Netflix.

What are some of your favorite DMD memories?

There are too many great moments in here, ultimately this is the best group that I am a part of. So many guys willing to help you out in any way possible, through the good and bad. Thanks gents, it’s an honour (and yes that’s Canadian spelling there!).
